Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other legal travel documents, who intend to stay in the Republic of China for more than six months for the purpose of joining family; pursed studies; undertake employment; invest; conduct missionary work; conduct official duties; participate in international exchange programs; and engage in other activities approved by MOFA or other relevant agencies at the central-government level.

2. Original passport (please make sure, you have signed your passport and the remaining validity of the applicant's passport shall be more than six months.)
3. A copy of residence permit of Switzerland for non Swiss
4. A passport-sized photo ( 4.5cm x 3.5cm color photos with the white color background and the facial image size should be in between 3.2 cm – 3.6 cm. The photo must has been taken within last six months.)
5. Criminal Record must be authenticated by Staatskanzlei / Chancellerie d'Etat
6. Flight booking confirmation
7. Fee: CHF 70.00 (Cash only)
8. Addressed and prepaid registered envelope
9. A proof of financial support (ex: bank account statement, scholarship award letter, employment statement)
10. Further documents for different purposes of staying:
For study (in pursuit of degrees / exchange student)-
1) An admission letter issued by the university or school in Taiwan.
2) Health certificate (doc檔案)issued and authentificated by an ROC embassy within the last three months. 1) Proof of family relationship (a husband / wife : marriage certificate which must be authentificated by an ROC embassy, a son / daughter : birth certificate). 4) Alien Resident Certificate or Certificate of Residence in ROC of Foreign Spouses; when applicant's Spouses are not ROC nationals and without household registration in Taiwan, the applicant must submit a valid Alien Resident Certificate or a Certificate of Residence in ROC from the Foreign Spouses.

一、 外籍人士持居留簽證並經入出國及移民署查驗許可入國後15日內應至居住地入出國及移民署縣(市)服務站申辦外僑居留證。各服務站地址及電話如下表。
Foreign holders of an ROC resident visa, who have passed inspection and been allowed to enter the country by the National Immigration Agency （NIA）, shall apply to the local NIA county/city service center for an Alien Resident Certificate within 15 days following their entry. The addresses and telephone numbers of all NIA service centers around the country are provided in the following list.
