Chinese Library, Cultural & Educational Service

The Culture Center draws upon government and private resources to strengthen services aimed at overseas Chinese, assist in the resolution of overseas development problems, enhance the promotion of Chinese culture, encourage overseas Chinese to put down roots and join their local mainstream society through various channels of communications.

The focus of contemporary overseas Chinese affairs work is on providing diversified services, including liaison services aimed at overseas Chinese and their organizations, overseas cultural and educational work, assistance to overseas businesses, guidance to overseas students returning for further studies, overseas Chinese identification services, correspondence education, and overseas news broadcasting and information dissemination, etc.

Further, the Center has a library of over 30 kinds of Chinese magazines and newspapers, almost 20,000 Chinese books, and instructional cassette tapes and video tapes for circulation. Spaces are available at the Center for non-profit organizations to hold classes, seminars, performances, events, and such. The Center also conducts forums on legal, medical, financial and tax matters for new immigrants.
