Visitor Visa

    Eligible Applicants: Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other travel documents, intend to stay in the Republic of China for less than six (6) months for the purpose of transit, tourism, visiting relatives, attending a training course, receiving medical treatment or engaging in business or other permissible activities.

l         Requirements:

1. A passport valid for at least six months;

2. A duly completed application form with two photos (colored, showing frontal face, taken within 6 months); Starting from April 9,2012,  ROC visa applicants need to first access the website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/BOCA_MRVWeb/subroot/MRVWeb0_form.jsp, fill out the visa application forms online and then print them out. The completed forms with bar codes and other required documents ought to be submitted to the R O C’s overseas missions which the applicants have selected while filling out their application forms. The offline application forms will no longer be accepted.

3. Proof of a valid return ticket;

4. Documents supporting the reason for visit;

5. US Permanent Resident Card (Non-US citizen, if applicable).

6. Other relevant documents required by the Consular Officer(example: bank statement, flight schedule).

7. Visitor Visa Fee (Non-U.S. citizens): Single-Entry: US$50 ; Multiple-Entry: US$100   

    Processing Fee (U.S. citizens): US$160 (starting from April 13, 2012)

8. Processing Time (start from next working day): Regular application: two (2) working days.
    Cases requiring further review will be referred to the Bureau of Consular Affairs for approval.

9. Expedited Processing Fee: Single-Entry: US$25； Multiple-Entry: US$50

    Expedited Processing Time: One working day (next working day pick up) (Fee charged for all expedited   documents including visa fee-exempt applicants and United States passport holders. Expedited service does not apply to every application.)

10. Fee for Telex: US$3 (per page). Fee for Mailing of Documents (per visa): Certified Mail US$6 stamp

l         Duration of Stay: Seven (7), Fourteen (14) days, Thirty (30) days, Sixty (60) days

l         Remarks:

1.        TECO reserves the right to withhold disclosure of the reasons for disapproval of your visa application, and to withhold the fees deemed non-refundable.

2.        Applicants who have not reached the age of majority(20 years old) must have the form signed by a parent or legal guardian. Parents or legal guardian should provide documents that can prove their relationship to the applicant.(for example: birth certificate and photo I.D.)

3.        An R.O.C. citizen ever registered with household in Taiwan shall be subject to the laws of the Republic of China while in its jurisdiction, which include conscription for military service.
