25 years ago the private Taiwanese airline EVA AIR started operating flights. And 25 years ago – on 12 November 1991 – the first EVA AIR aircraft landed at Vienna International Airport. Edward Ho, EVA AIR General Manager Austria and CEE, and his team invited long-time partners and associates to an impressive concert event at the Natural History Museum, thanking for 25 years of support and successful cooperation.
Julian Jaeger, CEO of Vienna Airport, and Norbert Kettner, Director of the Vienna Tourist Board both underlined in their speeches the excellent partnership with EVA AIR and the carrier´s important role for the hub and the destination Vienna.
Moderator during the evening was Katia Wagner – Miss Earth Air 2013 and EVA AIR testimonial for the Royal Laurel Class. This exclusive business class of EVA AIR has been available for passengers since October due to the introduction of the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Vienna route.
Highlight of the 25th anniversary event was a concert of eight cellists of the „Cellissimo Ensemble“ under the direction of Rudolf Leopold with works by Rimski-Korsakow, Villa-Lobos, Gioachino Rossini and many more.
200 guests followed EVA AIR´s invitation – among them Ambassador Ms. Vanessa Shih of Taipei Economic & Culture Office in Austria , a delegation of The Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna with Minister Counsellor Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Director Mrs. Denduen Luengcheng, EVA AIR´s General Sales Agencies from Central and Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Croatia as well as Austrian media representatives, travel agents, cargo forwarders, handling services and frequent flyers.
