Press Release: Flavors of Belize to be Promoted in Taiwan’s International Food Show

As part of the concerted and continuing efforts to promote trade and business opportunities between Taiwan and Belize, the Embassy of the ROC (Taiwan) works with the Central American Trade Office (Taiwan) and the Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) to facilitate four Belizean professionals to represent and promote the flavors of Belize in the upcoming “2016 Taipei International Food Show.” Ms. Shauna Arnold, Export Promotion Officer, EXPORTBelize of BELTRAIDE, Ms. Simone Bell, Marketing Consultant of Caribbean Premier Products and Ms. Yalily Cuello and Samantha Turcios, Marketing Personnel of L&R Liquors, will travel to Taipei to participate in the Food Show scheduled on June 22-25, 2016.

Ms. Arnold began working as an Export Promotion Officer in EXPORTBelize in 2014.  EXPORTBelize’s main focus is to encourage competitiveness of local business to promote their products and services regionally and internationally.  A part of Ms. Arnold’s responsibilities includes proactively exploring the local market for potential Belizean export industries or products with export potential and interest to meet the demands of the international market, identifying viable export markets for Belizean products, engaging in trade shows and trade missions to assess emerging markets.  Ms. Arnold holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Galen University and eventually hopes to go on to pursue a Master’s Degree in the near future.

Ms. Bell is the Marketing Consultant for Caribbean Premier Products Ltd. (CPPL) & Toucan Industries Ltd. Under the guidance of the Managing Director Mr. Kahlil Salazar, Ms. Bell is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of all marketing activities for both companies. Her portfolio includes the management of brands such as Coool Delight, Coool Sips, Coool  Pops, Caribbean Sunrise Natural Juices, Frooot Blasts, BelaVida Water, BelMer Wines, Dhagga and the recently developed Pure Nature MD, an all-natural fruit and plant based beverage which is the first in the Health and Wellness line being advocated by the company. Ms. Bell holds a BSc. in Hotel and Tourism Management from the University of the West Indies, and is currently pursuing an MBA in Business Administration (Marketing). She is also an ISO 9001:2008 Auditor & Six Sigma Lean DFSS Green Belt Certified.

Ms Turcios and Ms. Cuello of L&R Liquors expect to build new business relationships with potential buyers in Taiwan and Asia. They will proudly promote Belize’s exceptional liquors, meet and greet attendees of the show and receive thoughts and views on their fine rums and other exotic products.

The 2016 Taipei International Food Show is slated to take place with Foodtech & Pharmatech Taipei, Taipei Pack, Taiwan HORECA and Halal Taiwan. This joint expo created an outstanding record of 1,642 exhibitors and 3,920 booths in 2015. Buyers from over 100 countries sniffed fresh and savory biz chances around exotic 36 national pavilions. Against this background, the four Belizean professionals will work tirelessly to showcase fine food products from Belize on an international stage and subsequently to garner buyers, suppliers and create new relationships for Belizean producers.
