Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada hosted a reception in celebration of the inauguration of the 14th President and Vice President of the Republic of China (Taiwan)

In the afternoon of May 19, 2016, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada and Canada-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Group jointly hosted a reception in the Valor Building of the Parliament of Canada, in celebration of the inauguration of the 14th President Dr. Tsai Ing-Wen and Vice President Dr. Chen Chien-Jen of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The celebration saw the participation around 70 guests, including many Senators, Members of Parliament and their staff, together with the officials from TECO in Canada.
Representative WU, Rong-chuan expressed appreciation to the parliamentarians to attend the reception, stated the meaning of the third peaceful transition of power in Taiwan this January, President Tsai Ing-Wen's governing philosophy, the national strategic plan on five innovative industries, and urged the parliamentarians' continuous support to the Republic of China (Taiwan), as well as Taiwan-Canada bilateral relations. The parliamentarians praised Taiwan's democratic achievements set a good model in the Chinese society, which should be cherished by the international community.
