Overseas Chinese in Switzerland celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year

The "Der Bund der Chinesen in der Schweiz ", an overseas Chinese association in Switzerland, held a gathering party to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year at Lotus China Restaurant in Bülach on Jan. 22, 2012. The party was hosted by Mr. Chan-Hoai Ha, President of the association. About 150 people from Chinese communities in Switzerland attended the party.
Amb. Fadah Hsieh, Head of the Délégation cultruelle et économique de Taipei, congratulated his compatriots attending the party a happy and prosperous year of dragon. Pointing out that the Republic of China (Taiwan) is the most active democratic and economic dragon in the region, Amb. Hsieh said that the successful holding of the recent presidential election hold on Jan. 14, 2012 in Taiwan demonstrated that the ROC is now a matured democratic beacon in Asia. The reelection of President Ma Ying-jeou was also evident that his policy to ensure peace across the Taiwan Strait and the stability of the region was supported by the majority of the people in Taiwan. Amb. Hsieh stressed that the result of the election is important for Taiwan to meet global challenges that we are now facing.
