2013 International Youth Orchestra Camp
Founded in 1945, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) has the longest history of all symphony orchestras in Taiwan. In addition to promoting classical music, the NTSO has nurtured countless world-famous musicians, laying the foundation for the diversely developing Taiwanese music industry.
The 2013 International Youth Orchestra Camp in Taichung, presented by the NTSO, offers an invigorating environment for outstanding young musicians to receive lessons from professionals and sought-after teachers alongside an opportunity to participate in youth orchestra and wind band performances at major concert halls. All faculty members are renowned musicians from the NTSO, the most elite conservatories and orchestras around the world. Mr. Cho-liang Lin will be the Artistic Director & Conductor while Mr. David Chan, the concertmaster of the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra will join this camp to be the violin soloist.
Students will benefit from private one-on-one instruction, orchestral and wind band training and public master-classes in individual instruments. The dates of the training camp are the 7th – 20th July, 2013, which will be followed by three days of performances at a National Concert Hall.
International students and overseas Taiwanese students are welcome to apply for the opportunity to attend the International Youth Orchestra Camp. The deadline for registration is the 31st March, 2013, with all applicants required to submit an audition DVD for consideration.
