We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the MacKay Memorial Hospital Medical Team in Fiji in 2023
Background:
Taiwan has been actively promoting medical care without borders for many years, and its commitment to undertaking various medical and public health assistance operations remains steadfast. Aligned with the medical diplomacy policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has been implementing bilateral medical programs in the Asia Pacific region since 2004.
In addition to directing designated hospitals to offer assistance to our allies, aimed at enhancing their public health services and medical care quality, the Ministry of Health and Welfare also encourages medical technology and academic institutions to engage in exchanges with friendly countries. These ongoing exchanges have been built upon cumulative hard work and have laid excellent foundations for diplomacy. Moreover, they have contributed significantly to improving health and environmental hygiene, greatly benefiting the citizens of these partner countries.
In our journey of providing international medical aid, we find solidarity with numerous designated health professionals who share our vision and ideals. It is through their dedicated professional efforts that we see smiles on the faces of our allies and the citizens of friendly nations. This collective effort allows us to optimize the use of our resources for the greater good, promoting a sense of brotherhood among the community of nations working together for the advancement of health and well-being.
