To celebrate the 2017 National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the Taipei Representative Office in cooperation with the “Taiwan-Ireland Student Association” and “Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese” jointly organized a hiking trip from Bray to Greystones on Sunday 24th September. The hike proved to be very popular and successful with over 50 people in attendance on the day including Senator Gerry Horkan and Mr. Alan Hobbs of EI.
Representative Simon S.K. Tu, Principal Evan Furlong and President Hanna Huang of the Taiwan-Ireland Student Association welcomed the participants in Bray Domain. Representative Tu thanked the organizers and the Dublin School of Mandarin Chinese for their enthusiastic efforts and praised them for their wonderful work at such short notice.
Representative Tu also encouraged the Taiwanese Community to hold many more events and wished the newly arrived students every success for their stay in Ireland. The cliff-side hike began in Bray of Co. Wicklow and wound its way along the coast to Greystones (7 km) providing stunning views of the coast and mountains. At the end of the trail, the hikers enjoyed gathering at the Beach Hotel and were provided with well-deserved ice cream after their long walk.
