An aggregate, Rs. 1.4 crores were granted to these students, who will begin their studies on the campuses in Taiwan from this September.
During the last 10 years, TECC has given away the scholarships to more than 200 Indian students to study in various fields at the universities in Taiwan. On 15th July, these scholarships were officially granted to the students by Ambassador Chung Kwang Tien.
The orientation program and the scholarship award ceremony were taken place at the TECC premises in New Delhi. Amb. Tien said in the ceremony: “Indian and Taiwanese culture share commonly cherished values; Taiwan is one of the best choices for Indian students to pursue further studies. The scholarship program will surely open a new window of opportunity in the future career for them.”
Amb. Tien also said: “The goal of the programs is to deliver world-class education to Indian students and in the meantime expose them to the rich Chinese culture best preserved in Taiwan. The selected students will be the seeds, when they complete their studies in Taiwan, being planted in the soil of India for the betterment of the country.”
