The Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia participated in the “2016 Annual Christmas Charity Bazaar” organized by the International Women’s Club of Riga (IWCR) for the first time on December 3rd, 2016. Along with more than twenty five embassies and non-governmental organizations, the Mission set up a booth to sell items of high technology 3Cs and delicate traditional handcrafts. Latvian President Hon. And Mdm. Raimonds Vejonis joined a crowd of more than 2,000 people in the Bazaar and enjoyed a diverse international cultural event.
Items displayed by the Taipei Mission include latest-version tablets and stick computers from ASUS, high capacity USBs from TOPMORE, exquisite handicraft products of purse hangers and renowned Taiwanese Kavalan whiskies, which generating significant interest among fairgoers and journalists from local TV channels. Attracted by the Taiwanese excellence, President and Mrs. Vejonis spent considerable time at the Taiwan booth and inquired the functions of those high-tech products.
In addition, the Mission also donated two item for the open auction of the IWCR and they were well-received, as participants bid for them immediately. Through the event, Taiwan’s love, generosity and high-quality products were introduced to the Latvian people, creating warm and cordial friendship among the two countries.
