The Tourism Bureau of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in cooperation with the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia for the fifth consecutive year will participate in the 24th International Travel Trade Fair “Balttour 2017”, which will be held at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre from February 3-5, 2017. The Taipei Mission will be very honored to introduce multifaceted beauty of Taiwan to all interested individuals and travel agents from the Baltic States and beyond.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has proclaimed 2017 as the “International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development,” and Taiwan has initiated “Ecotourism Year 2017” with the introduction of national in-depth ecotourism activities throughout the year. These activities include firefly-watching, dolphin- and whale-watching, migratory bird-watching, raptor-watching, and purple butterfly-watching. With an emphasis on visits to butterfly habitats, Taipei has won the right to host the International Firefly Symposium in 2017. These activities offer incomparably rich opportunities for ecotourism experiences, and you cannot afford to miss them!
