The National Palace Museum in Taiwan Presents Treasures from Heaven: A Special Exhibition of Artifacts from the Holy See.
The precious artifacts from the Vatican are finally on display in their entirety at the February 4 press conference for the opening of Treasures from Heaven: A Special Exhibition of Artifacts from the Holy See organized by the National Palace Museum (NPM) and the Vatican's Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff. The Republic of China has enjoyed longstanding relations with the Vatican, and this exhibition marks the first time that objects from the Holy See have been organized for such a major exhibition held overseas. This selection of 60 treasures from the Vatican includes precious vestments, tiaras, and ritual objects of the Catholic faith that have been used by Popes over the ages. On display at the National Palace Museum from February 5 to May 2, the exceptionally refined production is complemented by the rich content, making the objects come even more alive. The exhibition also features a crosier borrowed from Fu Jen Catholic University that once belonged to Cardinal Costantini along with 21 books and documents from the NPM collection dealing with Catholics in China. The splendor of all the artifacts has an aura of sacred classicism, making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a must-see during the Chinese New Year's holiday.
