Due to drastic global climate change, a number of governments are taking tremendous initiatives in growing eco-friendly economy and developing environmental friendly properties. As a result of such increasing awareness towards environmental issues, global consumer spending on green products and services as well as eco-procurement is now an accelerating trend. Therefore, The Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) has launched “Green Trade Promotion Project” in 2011 and appointed Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) to implement overseas promotion campaigns since 2014.
This year, NU Sentral shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur is targeted as the core venue for “Taiwan Premium Eco-Products Showcase in Malaysia 2016”. Environmental-friendly green products such as “Environmental-friendly Innovations Stationaries”, “Worry-Free Home” and various eco-lifestyle products are the highlights of the show. Malaysian consumers will be amazed by the uniqueness and creativity of Taiwanese eco-products at the showcase.
Themed “Taiwan Greening Your Life”, “Taiwan Premium Eco-Products Showcase in Malaysia 2016”was officially launched on 19th October at 11:00am. H.E. Mr. Chang, James Chi-Ping, the representative of Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Malaysia, Tan Sri Datuk Mustafa Mansur, Chairman of the Malaysian Green Business Association, Ms. Tasha Hsiao, Director of Taiwan Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur Representative Office, Mr. Alan Ong Yeow Fooi, President of Malaysian Gifts & Premium Association, Mr. Desmond Chong Yoong Fatt, Secretary General of Malaysian Dental Dealers Association, Mr.Tea Thiem Teen, Director of Taipei Investors’ Association in Malaysia, along with other distinguished guests and media were invited to attend the ceremony.
H.E. James Chang pointed out at the launch that, throughout the years, Taiwan has been playing a significant role in leading and developing the global green technologies. In view that the interest of Malaysian market in green products and green investment is on the rise, it is expected that Taiwan eco-brands would gain more exposure via “Taiwan Premium Eco-Products Showcase in Malaysia 2016”. Such a great opportunity would not only help promote Taiwan eco-products in Malaysian markets, simultaneously, exposure in Malaysian market also contributes to building up positive image of Taiwan eco-products.
The showcase assembles a total of 11 Taiwan eco-products manufacturing sectors with 20 premium eco-products, which include Truegrasses ball pens, PLA eco-friendly disposable cutlery, innovative wooden eco-products, digital Paper Shoot cameras, LED lightning, eco-home furniture, and etc. to show the production capability of Taiwan’s eco-industry and its mind-blowing software and hardware development.
Among all the exhibits, the digital paper camera (namely Paper Shoot) by Paper Shoot Technologies Co. Ltd. becomes the highlight of the show. Blending the beauty of Taiwanese traditional cultural values into contemporary science and technology concepts, paper camera is absolutely an awe-inspiring eco-friendly creation. Noteworthy, unlike conventional cameras with plastic casing that is hazardous to the environment, each Paper Shoot comes with recycled paper pulp material casing. In addition, DIY/personalized designs make each Paper Shoot special, unique and original. Furthermore, editable and interchangeable casings help the users keep up with today's trends and fashions. This creative and innovative piece of sustainable and user-friendly design has successfully wowed people in France, Japan, Singapore and other countries.
Meanwhile, Truegrasses Co. Ltd. presents Malaysian green lovers truegrasses notebooks, ball pens, natural fiber sheet, mugs and a variety of household products that are made from nature grasses and recycled food grade plastic. The use of agricultural wastes is indeed an environmental-friendly initiative as it reduces petrochemical consumption, carbon and plastics.
On the other hand, Wood-Design shows the beauty of hinoki from Japan through their sleek and minimal designs of home furniture. Visitors could get to experience the sensation of real hinoki wood and learn about the actual materials of the eco-products. It is expected that more people would gain greater awareness on eco-products and learn to treasure natural resources.
Malaysian consumers now have the opportunity to witness the Taiwanese green creativity. The organizer will arrange DIY workshop on daily basis throughout the showcase period.
