about the programThe program aims to provide education and training for students to cultivate the capacity to approach public health problems through careful analysis and well-planned research. The curriculum is based on courses jointly offered by fifteen graduate institutes: Public Health; Health & Welfare Policy; Hospital & Health Care Administration; Clinical & Community Health Nursing; Microbiology and Immunology; Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences; Biomedical Informatics; Tropical Medicine; Clinical Medicine; School of Medicine; Biotechnology and Laboratory Science in Medicine; Biomedical Engineering; Dentistry; Neuroscience; Traditional Medicine, and Biomedical Imaging and Radiological Sciences.
★Among public universities in Taiwan, this is the first international health program taught in English.
- Entry requirements
Ph.D. program:
Completion of a doctorate in medicine or dentistry or its equivalent; or a master’s degree in public health, medicine, or other health sciences or related fields at public or registered private universities and independent colleges; the diploma must be approved by the Taiwan Ministry of Education.
Master program:
Completion of a bachelor’s degree in biology, medicine, and/or other health sciences or related fields at public or registered private universities and independent colleges, or foreign universities and colleges approved by the Ministry of Education, ROC (Taiwan).
how to apply
PROCEDURE: Both Online & By Post Applications
Step 1. Do the registration on National Yang-Ming University Online Application web page (http://oia.ym.edu.tw/incoming/incoming.student/login), fulfill the application form and upload all required documents before March. 31st, 2017.
Step 2. Deliver the hard copy of the application form and all required documents by post to OIA office in NYMU before March. 31st, 2017.
Supporting documents for application
You must provide the following supporting documents:
- Two copies of Signed Application Form
- Signed Declaration Form
- Autobiography in English
- Two Letters of Recommendation
- Study and research plan in English (purpose of study, plans of study, anticipated results)
- One official copy of the highest-level (Master's or above) / (Bachelor's or above) diploma/certificate and one original copy of transcripts issued by the institution (in English or Chinese) (*The graduation diploma/certificate of foreign educational institution and transcripts shall be subjected to validation by the R.O.C. (Taiwan) embassy /representative office in applicant’s country.)
- English proficiency: For international applicant whose native language is not English, TOEFL (a minimum score of 80 above on the IBT or 213 above on the CBT or 550 above on the PBT) or IELTS (above 6.5) is required, taken within the past five years. Other appropriate proofs of English proficiency provided by the R.O.C. embassies are also acceptable.
