The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) is aimed at people who are not native Chinese speakers. The TOCFL has three proficiency bands:Band A, Band B and Band C. Each of the bands has two levels. Therefore, there are a total of six levels:Level 1 to Level 6. The test-taker can freely choose the test version either in traditional or simplified characters.

All participants will receive a document with their test results. Those who pass the exam also receive a certificate which can serve as a credential when applying for Taiwan Scholarship, Huayu Scholarship or admission to academic programs at colleges or universities in Taiwan.
