Representative Wen-Chieh Jieh of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in NZ visited Christchurch between 28 and 30 April, accompanied by TECO’s First Secretary, Mr Chi-chang Lu.
In addition to exchange point of views on matters concerning Taiwanese nationals living in Christchurch area with leaders of local Taiwanese communities, Representative Jieh also visited Development Christchurch Limited (DCL) to explore the feasibility for Taiwanese businesses to take part in Christchurch’s post-earthquake reconstruction projects.
Representative was heartily welcomed in his visits to Fo Guang Shan South Island, the Mandarin school, chorus and dance club of Taiwan Hwa-Hsing Society, the tomato farm of Mr. Humphrey Shih, and the Farmers Corner, an Ashburton tourists farm run by Mr. Peter Huang.
