Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs and the University of Auckland signed a Memorandum of Understanding aiming to foster talent exchange on 31 October 2017. Based on the MoU, students and graduates of the University of Auckland will enjoy unprecedented access to information on internships and working opportunities offered by renowned enterprises in Taiwan and develop their international careers.
Taiwan is a global leader in the information and communication industries. Its hardware capability and manufacturing expertise is a perfect complement to New Zealand’s innovative design and leading-edge technology. This MoU provides an ideal platform for students and graduates of the University of Auckland to leverage Taiwan's world-class industrial capacity and bring their outstanding research in areas such as smart machinery, health robotics, advanced composite materials, and medical devices into commercial success.
The talent exchange will encompass information provided by both parties on corporate internships, job vacancies, personnel resumes, and recruitment services, and promote other talent exchange activities such as mutual visits and exchanges by the University of Auckland and enterprises in Taiwan, as well as transnational projects.
The MoU was countersigned in Auckland by Adrienne Cleland, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Auckland, and witnessed by Mei-Hua Wang, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs and Alf Filipaina, Councillor and Deputy Chairperson of the Environment and Community Committee of the Auckland Council.
Taiwan’s government has created a website dedicated to helping global professionals and talents connect with employers in Taiwan and find out about their job vacancies.
