At the invitation of the Farah Tennis Club, Deputy Representative James C. L. Huang attended the opening ceremony of the ROC 105th Double Tenth Tennis Tournament on 17 September and the subsequent prize award dinner cum 30th anniversary celebration of the club on 18 September 2016. Over 150 persons attended the dinner which also saw the attendance of advisers and commissioners from the Overseas Community Affairs Committee, office bearers from the Taipei Business Association in Singapore and the Hakka Affairs Advisory Committee, and officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.
In his address, Deputy Representative Huang expressed his appreciation to the Taiwanese community in Singapore for their heartfelt expression of loyalty and devotion. He also noted that the Farah Tennis Club has been growing through its 30 years, and that under its current President, Ms. Cheng Chien-wei, the club is well placed for its next 30 years.
To mark its 30th anniversary, the Farah Tennis Club invited the Hongfu Team from Taiwan to take part in the tournament as well as the Xiuyu Troupe and music students from the School of the Arts to perform at its dinner celebration.
