In appreciation for their service as culture ambassadors of Taiwan in Singapore, Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang hosted a lunch reception for the cast and crew of “Mulan The Musical” on 15 January 2017.
Based on the legendary tale of Hua Mulan, “Mulan The Musical” features the original Taiwan cast and crew as well as two Singaporean artistes. The musical, now playing at Resorts World Sentosa, has a run of 36 shows and will present its final performance on 5 February 2017.
In his address, Representative Liang told the attending guests that the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore has invited friends from the diplomatic corps, think tanks and media in Singapore to attend the musical. Although the Chinese dialogue of the musical might have posed some difficulties for our western friends, the response from those who have watched the musical has been overwhelmingly positive. Representative Liang urged the cast and crew of “Mulan The Musical” to continue to give of their best so that they can win over more audiences with their creativity and talents.
Also present at the appreciation lunch were prominent personalities from the Taiwanese community in Singapore. Specially invited by Representative Liang, they extended a warm welcome and provided useful information on Singapore’s economy and society to the cast and crew of the musical.
