On 27 April 2017, a delegation from the Concern and Care Society led by its President, Mdm. Margaret Wee Bee Hoon, PBM, BBM, and Honorary Secretary General, Mr. Chang Chia Sheng; called on Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang at the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.
During the meeting, Honorary Secretary General Chang briefed Representative Liang on the work of the society towards improving the lives of elderly persons in Singapore who suffer from dementia and loneliness. Its programs such as the Music Therapy Exercise, Music Academy for the Elderly, Guardian Angel's Manpower Bank, Body & Mind Renewal Exercise, Youth For Elderly Project (Y4EP) and HOPELINE aim to reach out to and bring a sense of joy and companionship to the elderly.
Welcoming the delegation from the Concern and Care Society, Representative Liang praised the society on its work which not only lights up the lives of the needy elderly but also brings greater meaning to the lives of the volunteers and staff. Representative Liang also commended Mdm. Margaret Wee and Mr. Chang Chia Sheng on their outstanding service and contribution to the community, and highlighted the shared family and societal values between Singapore and Taiwan. He emphasized the importance of cultivating charity, and looked forward to enhanced cooperation and exchanges between charitable organizations of the two countries.
