Taipei, 1st September, 2017: The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is leading a delegation of 6 Taiwanese enterprises to participate in the Swaziland International Trade Fair 2017 at the Mavuso International Exhibition and Trade Center, Manzini. The expo will run from the 1st to the 11th of September 2017.
The mission is bringing with them the latest products from Taiwan as well as new opportunities for business and trade. It will be comprised of the following 6 dynamic enterprises, Segl Energy, Heng Long Electric, Usrich Technology, Chips Garden Fancy, Art’s Tech Ind., and Maxcomm. They will offer UPS batteries, motorcycle batteries, power banks, submersible pumps, IC memory, Li-ion batteries, stationery, food, green energy solutions, auto parts, and many other high quality products from Taiwan. The highlights of the show will include Segl Energy’s display of car starters and motorcycle batteries that have won the 2015 AMPA Innovation Product Award. Based on their successes, Segl Energy will continue developing green energy solutions that improve the environment. Heng Long Electric selects high-quality materials for its products and combined with its strong engineering technology, they are able to manufacture a safe and reliable series of pumps that offer excellent performance. As Taiwan's pump industry develops, the Henglong Pump is one of the most reputable names in the industry.
According to customs statistics, Taiwan's exports to Swaziland in 2016 totaled US $6,399,571. Compared to the same period in 2015, this amount is a decline of 15.7%. Imports from Swaziland in 2016 totaled US $564,062, which when compared to the same period in 2015, is an increase of 95%. Additionally, in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation, Taiwan Technical Mission has been stationed in Swaziland since 1969. To assist in the development of agriculture, the Mission helps guide farmers on growing corn, rice, vegetables, fruit trees, and sweet potatoes.
In the Taiwan Pavilion, TAITRA will provide local enterprises with the unique opportunity not only to meet representatives from Taiwanese businesses, but also to see award winning Taiwan Excellence products, such as from Asus (smartphones, tablets), Giant (bicycles), Acer (notebooks), and others!
Meanwhile, for the first time we have invited two Taiwanese agricultural and food importers to visit Swaziland to purchase local products. They expect to find Swazi potential exporters of macadamia nuts, other local nuts, chili sauce and so on. We hope that Swaziland-Taiwan trade relationship can be enhanced through such visiting missions.
