Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, Ministry of Education, Republic of China (Taiwan)
The Huayu Enrichment Scholarship was established by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan to encourage international students to undertake Mandarin courses in Taiwan, thus providing successful applicants with opportunities to increase their understanding of Taiwanese culture and society and promoting mutual understanding and interactions between Taiwan and the international community.
The Huayu Enrichment Scholarship programme enables UK nationals to study Chinese at recognised language centres in Taiwan for a period of two months, six months or one year. Recipients will receive a monthly stipend of NT$ 25,000.
Completed scholarship applications must be submitted electronically to the British Association for Chinese Studies (BACS). An application form, further details and full guidelines are available on the BACS website: http://www.bacsuk.org.uk/BACS_FUNDINGSOURCES2.php.
The deadline for applying is the 31st March, 2014. Applicants may be asked to participate in a telephone interview the following month before the award list is confirmed.
