Taiwanese artist Chen Yin-ju (陳瀅如 ) is participating in the Liver-pool Biennial, one of the largest festivals of contemporary art in England which this year features 44 artists from around the world.
For the 2016 Liverpool Biennial running from 9th July through to 16th October, commissioned artists will present new works that are created for the 9th edition of the festival under the theme ‘Episodes.’
Chen, whose works include videos, photographs, installations, and drawings, is showcasing ‘Extrastellar Evaluations’; a series of works inspired by the mythical lost continent of Lemuria to explore visual art and social issues from the 1960s and the 1970s to global issues in the contemporary world.
The Liverpool Biennial aims to create a platform for artists from different countries to interact and collaborate. This year, artists from Japan, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Australia are participating in the fair.
The fourteen-week festival includes a series of exhibitions, forums, workshops, and live performances at galleries, museums, and public spaces across the city to depict the past, present, and future of Liverpool.
