The Taiwan Fellowship program 2018 will open for online applications on 1st May 2017. The deadline for applications will be 30th June 2017.
The Taiwan Fellowship was established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to award foreign experts and scholars interested in research related to Taiwan, the Asia-Pacific, the New Southbound Policy, Taiwan's regional economic integration, and Taiwan's linkage with the Asia-Pacific And the world, the chance to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan.
The fellowship includes monthly of grants paid at the beginning of every month (42 NTD = 1GBP). Professors, associate professors, research fellows and associate research fellows will be entitled to NT $ 60,000 while assistant professors, assistant research fellows, and doctoral candidates will Is entitled to round $ 50,000. Recipients will also be entitled to one round-trip, an economy class ticket for the most direct route to Taiwan (the subsidy will be by by MOFA in accordance with the relevant regulations.) The recipients of the fellowship will begin their research in Taiwan in January 2018. The duration of the program will be from 3 to 12 months and must be within the year 2018.
