A delegation led by Representative Lin visited Peterborough on 3 April, where they met with executives from Opportunity Peterborough (OP), an urban regeneration company owned by Peterborough City Council, to learn more about the city and its potential for smart cities collaboration.
The delegation first met with the CEO of OP, Mr Steve Bowyer, then attended the Allia Future Business Centre, where Mr Bowyer and several other officials delivered presentations on smart cities, the ‘circular economy’, and ‘city intelligence’, before being given a tour of the business centre’s innovation laboratory.
After a lunch at Peterborough Cathedral which included figures from across the city council, including John Holdich OBE, the council leader, the delegation was provided with tours of Photocentric Ltd., a 3D printing company, and Baker Perkins, a supplier of specialist baking machinery across the world, including to Taiwan’s I-MEI foods.
Speaking on the visit, Representative Lin said that the smart cities agenda is tremendously important, and the TRO looks forward to future collaboration with Peterborough and other UK cities to maximise its potential.
