From 9-11 May, Professor Kuang-Chong Wu, CEO of the Taiwan Energy Program Phase II Office (NEP-II), led a large delegation to Glasgow to attend the 2017 All-Energy Exhibition and Conference, the UK’s largest renewable and low carbon energy event.
The delegation which was comprised of officials from Taiwanese R&D institutions and energy companies established a stand at the exhibition, named ‘Energy@Taiwan’. The stand was the largest at the exhibition and attracted many buyers from across the UK and continental Europe. Besides demonstrating NEP-II outcomes and Taiwan’s R&D products, Professor Wu was interviewed by six mass-media outlets, including The Times, Pan European Networks, and Energy Voice.
A Taiwanese forum named ‘2017 International Cooperation on Renewable Energy Projects in Taiwan’ was also held at the conference, with more than 100 people attending to listen to its presentations on subjects such as the ultrafast rechargeable aluminium battery developed by the Taiwan’s Industrial Technologies Research Institute.
With the help of the TRO’s Edinburgh Office and London-based Science Division, Professor Wu, and the key delegates including Professor Tuagyang Chen, the Vice President of the National Cheng Kung University, were also invited to the Scottish Parliament to give a presentation on Taiwan’s green energy policy and NEP-II in a meeting held by the Cross-Party Group on Taiwan.
