Arranged by the TRO’s Science and Technology Division, a delegation from the Department of Foresight and Innovation Policies (DFIP) of Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology visited the Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC) at the University of Strathclyde on 23 June.
Led by Ms Hsiu-Ya Yang, Director General of DFIP, the seven-person delegation made the visit to learn more about smart grids and the UK’s approach to accelerating the development of innovative and research technologies.
The delegation also received briefings from Professor Graeme Burt, Director of the Institute for Energy and Environment at the University of Strathclyde, and Jennifer Keegan, Development Manager for Scotland’s Energy Technology Partnership, on energy related research, development and demonstration programmes, and investments. The visit will help provide the government of Taiwan with valuable information on some of the latest energy technologies.
