An initial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education in Taiwan and the British Council Taipei was signed in 2005 and renewed in 2011, focusing on the ‘Internationalisation of Higher Education’, ‘School Links’, ‘International Schools Award’ and ‘English Teacher Training’.
The latest MoU, detailing further cooperation between the UK and Taiwan, was signed on the 7th August, 2017, in London by Mr Yen-Heng Ouyang, Director of the Education Division, Taipei Representative Office in the UK, on behalf of the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. Susana Galván, Director of the British Council Taipei, was the fellow signatory.
The close working relationship between the Ministry of Education in Taiwan and the British Council has helped support the development and implementation of international education policies, assisted learners and teachers across Taiwan and contributed to Taiwan-UK relations through education partnerships and collaboration.
