Academica Sinica president leads delegation to the UK

From 28-31 August, a delegation from Academica Sinica visited the UK to exchange ideas on collaboration, research and policy making in green energy and biomedicine.
Led by Professor James C. Liao, President of Academic Sinica, the delegation visited institutions across England, including the Royal Society, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, the University of Cambridge, the UK Biobank in Oxford University Medical School, the Francis Crick Institute, the Energy Futures Lab in Imperial College London, and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts in the University of Reading.
Arranged by the TRO, the delegation also hosted meetings with fifty Taiwanese doctoral students in the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and the Francis Crick Institute. Representative Lin also accompanied delegates to a meeting with Professor Robin Grimes, the Chief Scientific Advisor of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Academia Sinica is the highest ranking research Institute in Taiwan. With more than 800 principal investigators and 7,000 research members, the academy has been actively engaged in cutting-edge research in the sciences and the humanities and has become a centre of research excellence in Asia.
