The TRO’s Education Division has signed an MOU with the British Council, pledging further cooperation between the UK and Taiwan on educational matters.
The MOU stipulates that both Taiwan and the British Council will seek opportunities to work together in the ‘priority areas’ of higher education, school education, and foreign language learning and training. The document was signed in London by Mr Yen-Heng Ouyang, Director of the TRO’s Education Division on 7 August, and in Taipei by Susana Galván, Director of the British Council, Taipei branch on 24 July.
It follows an earlier MOU between Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and the British Council, Taipei branch that was initially signed in 2005 and renewed in 2011. The close working relationship between Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and the British Council has helped support the development and implementation of international education policies, assisted learners and teachers across Taiwan, and contributed to Taiwan-UK relations through education partnerships and collaboration.
