On 1 August, the TRO’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Taiwan Studies Programme at the University of Nottingham was extended, renewing the funding for the programme until July 2020. The extension continues the funding mechanism that has been in place since the first MOU was signed in 2011.
The MOU will enable the Taiwan Studies Programme at the University of Nottingham to continue working closely with affiliated programmes across Europe with the aim of fostering Taiwan Studies in Nottingham and creating a dynamic platform for scholars and students who are interested in Taiwan.
Since the programme was set up at the University of Nottingham in 2011, it has continuously worked to promote a wider and sustained scholarly interest in the study, research, and teaching of the politics, society, external relations, culture, and economy of Taiwan, hosting international events such as the 2017 annual Taiwan studies joint roundtable programme.
