The Taipei Representative Office in the UK (TRO) functions as the official representation of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the UK. It serves to build closer links with the government and private sector in the UK, and to establish mutually beneficial relations between our two countries. The office also provides the consular services of an embassy including visas and document authentication.
Role: The Taipei Representative Office in the UK is seeking a capable Press and Communications Editor/Adviser to help liaise with journalists, politicians, businessmen, scholars and social leaders. The role involves work such as drafting and proofreading letters speeches, press releases, position papers and op-ed articles. The position also includes maintaining the TRO’s website and social media, researching and answering information request for issues related to Taiwan, and assisting with events and other administrative duties as required.
Salary: Gross salary from £29,700 (per annum)
Location: Victoria, London
Requirements: The preferable candidate will have a relevant degree background such as international relations, political science, Chinese studies, history, and the like, or at least two-year work experience in these areas. He or she will also possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills; a keen interest in international relations, especially as relates to Taiwan; proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and video editing. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese will be a distinct advantage. Previous experiences of professional writing and social media management would also be advantages.
