Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta attended the 2017 Atlanta International Business Development Summit, hosted by the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of International Affairs, from September 6-8, 2017. Leaders and economic development professionals from 12 countries attended the conference. Atlanta-Taipei Sister Cities committee Chairman Peter Yeh and TECO Director Jerry Chang also attended the Summit.
At the conference, DG Liu presented information about Taipei’s superior industrial and service sectors, including information technology, bio-technology, the conference industry, finance, and wholesale and retail to Atlanta Chamber of Commerce members and representatives from other cities.
DG Liu also joined tours organized by the City of Atlanta, including the Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, Atlanta tech company MailChimp, film company Tyler Perry Studios, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. He found that the Summit, designed to promote mutual cooperation and understanding among diverse sections of the international business community, was a valuable and productive experience.
