To celebrate National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan), the Atlanta Care and Assistance Association and local Taiwanese communities hosted a cultural performance event at Infinite Energy Theater on September 20.
Sponsored by the ROC Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), “Taiwanese Culture Goodwill Mission Troupe of the National Day”, was brought to you by the “Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe” from Taiwan.
John Lu, President of the Atlanta Care and Assistance Association, welcomed the performing troupe and all the guests. Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta also gave remarks. DG Liu praised the famous troupe who perform traditional Taiwanese temple parade shows. The program presents the diversity of Taiwanese culture to mainstream as well as local communities. Leaders from the OCAC also brought Minister Hsin-hsing Wu’s greeting to the overseas Taiwanese community, thanking them for their support of the ROC.
This 90-minute program was created by professional art advisers and percussion composers using modern theatrical techniques as well as creative orchestrations and presentations. The result is a unique mixture of classical arts and modern theater, an artistic spectacle exclusive to Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe. More than 650 audience members enjoyed the performance.
