Delegation of the Taiwan Leadership Development Program, Led by Minister Ray Shih, D-GPA, Visits TECO-Boston

The Taiwan Leadership Development Program delegation, led by Dr. Ray Shih, Minister of the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (D-GPA), Executive Yuan, Republic of China visited the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO-Boston) in the afternoon of August 31, 2017. The delegation was received by Scott Lai, Director-General of TECO-Boston. Dr. Steven Kelman, Weather Professor of Public Management, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, also joined the visit.
Director-General Lai welcomed Minister Shih and the delegation, and then briefed the group on the function and operations of TECO-Boston. The delegation visited Boston Chinatown afterwards and attended a dinner hosted by Director-General Lai.
The D-GPA collaborated with Harvard University this year by sending 45 senior Taiwan government officials for executive training. The Program took place at the Harvard Kennedy School from August 26 through September 2, 2017, which focused on city governance, digital economy, drug policy, etc.
At the closing dinner on September 1, Minister Shih signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kennedy School for future cooperation. The purpose of the Program is to strengthen governance competencies across fields and global vision.
