Director-General Scott Lai of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston met with Red Sox’s baseball player, Tzu-Wei Lin on September 13, 2017. Mr. Lai praised Lin’s excellent performance and wished him every success in Major League Baseball.
In 2012, Tzu-Wei Lin signed a contract with the Boston Red Sox Minor League after graduating from high school. He has been selected as Taiwan’s national team player six times and the most valuable player in the 2010 World Junior Baseball Championship. He was also ranked among the Top 20 Rookies in Major League Baseball in 2012.
