Director-General Anne Hung Invited to Deliver Keynote Address as Part of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month Event in Boston

Director-General Anne Hung of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO-Boston) delivered the Keynote Address at the invitation of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Boston Area Office, the Federal Special Emphasis Program Coalition, and the Environmental Protection Agency which co-organized the talk as part of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month celebrations at the John F. Kennedy Federal Building in Boston on the afternoon of May 28. Fifteen U.S. Federal Government agencies were represented with more than 80 people in attendance. Director-General Hung emphasized Taiwan’s concerted effort underway to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) in order to maintain Taiwan’s economic and trade competitiveness. She also explained the function of TECO-Boston and spoke about the good relationship shared between Taiwan and the New England region, Taiwan’s democratic and economic development, as well as Taiwan-U.S. and cross-Strait relations. Ms. Hung was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for her talk which was well received by the audience, several of whom commented that it provided them with a greater understanding of Taiwan-U.S. relations and Taiwan’s current economic strength.
