Director General Calvin Ho attends Formosa Circus Art performance celebrating Taiwanese American Heritage Week

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago Director General Calvin Ho attended a celebration of Taiwanese American Heritage Week featuring a performance by the Formosa Circus Arts Group (FOCA) from Taiwan on April 30th in Chicago.
Mr. Ho was invited to offer a few remarks welcoming the performing group and its visit to Chicago as the first city in its 2016 tour. Honored guests who also offer remarks included Illinois State Representative Marcus Evans Jr. among other dignitaries.
The purpose of FOCA’s 14 city tour is to celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage month in May as well as Taiwanese American Heritage week. The group combines Taiwanese, Hakka and Aboriginal music, costumes and dance with circus skills, acrobatics and modern dance to share with their audience the beauty of Taiwanese performance arts.
The performance was enthusiastically received by the audience of over 700 people.
