Taiwan’s Grand View Dance Troupe attracts hundreds to the Taiwan in Chicago Festival

In celebration of the 2017 Taiwanese American Heritage Week, Grand View Dance Troupe of Taiwan’s National University of Arts came to Chicago, co-sponsored by the Overseas Community Affairs Council, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center and local Taiwanese groups of the Greater Chicago area, to held a “Taiwan in Chicago Festival” performance at Westmont High School’s Auditorium on the afternoon of Sunday May 7th. Director General Calvin Ho of TECO in Chicago, Mayor Ron Gunter of Westmont, Director Larry Forssberg of Westmont Chamber of Commerce, and Superintendent Kevin Carey of Illinois Community Unit School District 201 were attended the performance.
In his remarks, Director General Calvin Ho expressed his appreciation to the local Taiwanese groups cosponsoring the event for bringing the Taiwanese cultural heritage to Chicago. Mr. Ho said that he looked forward to close cooperation and exchange programs between Taiwan and Illinois.
