On January 1, 2016, Director General Ho attended a flag-raising outside the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Chicago building with community leaders in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan area celebrating the founding day of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Attendees then moved into the building where Director General Ho presided over the ceremony marking the handover of leadership from former CCBA president Mr. Sonny Lau to newly elected first ever female president Ms. Yman Huang Vien.
Mr. Ho spoke to the assembly, expressing his appreciation to the CCBA for their continued support of the Republic of China government, praising their civic-mindedness and expressing appreciation for their service to the community. He also presented Certificates of Appreciation to community leaders and organizations who hosted events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against Japan.
