The Double Tenth Committee of Colorado held a flag-raising ceremony on January 1, 2017 in observance of the 106th founding anniversary of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the New Year’s Day. Director General Jerry Chang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Denver and more than 100 people from Colorado’s Taiwanese community attended the ceremony.
Director General Chang said that he is very touched to see the Taiwanese community in Colorado organize and participate in the ceremony, which demonstrates their patriotism as well as love and support to Taiwan.
Director General Chang also indicated that Denver had a very mild and warm weather on the first day of 2017. He believed it is a good sign for the coming year and wish Taiwan would continue to enjoy abundant prosperity for development and growth in the future.
In addition to Denver, the Taiwanese communities in Kansas City and St. Louis also held flag-raising ceremonies on the same day. This Office sent two senior staff members to attend the ceremonies in both cities in order to show its appreciation and support.
