TECO in Honolulu to attend the MP17: Visitor Industry Workshop hosted by The State of Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HEMA) & Hawaii Tourism Authority(HTA)

The TECO in Honolulu has been invited along with the Consulates in Honolulu to join the MP17: Visitor Industry Emergency Management Workshop hosted by The State of Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HEMA) & Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) on Friday July 14, 2017 at Airport Honolulu Hotel.
According to the joint news release from HEMA & American Red Cross , the Hawaii islands is expected to receive 7-8 hurricanes starting from June to November this year due to the phenomenon of El Nino. If the islands were hit by a hurricane equal to category 4, devastating and catastrophic damages will be expected.
The workshop introduced the background/general information about the natural disaster in Hawaii and explained the role/responsibility of each participant. It also used Module 1:Pre-impact Discussion & Module 2:Post-impact Discussion to practice the scenario.
