In order to gain exposure for Taiwan’s medical services in the international arena, the Department of Health, Executive Yuan from Taiwan leads a four-member delegation to participate in the 5th Annual World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress, which is to be held from October 24 to 26 in Miami. The delegation members include Taipei Medical University Hospital, Wang Fan Hospital, Shuang Ho University and Cheng Kung University Hospital, accompanied by Taiwan’s trade promotion agency – TAITRA. The annual event is organized by Medical Tourism Association; Taiwan has participated since last year. This year, a representative from the Department of Health of Taiwan introducing to the participants the state-of-the-art technology and professional skills and friendly environment offered by the Taiwan’s medical service providers.
Mr. Liu from the Department of Health (DOH) has one goal in mind, that is - to increase the number of people traveling to Taiwan utilizing Taiwan’s medical services. He reiterates that Taiwan’s medical services are often associated with three criteria, such as professionalism, safety and customer-oriented. The stall, with colorful and vibrant design, put up by DOH at the event is expected to attract a large number of visitors.
Taiwan’s Medical Services were ranked first in Asia by the WHO. Currently 14 Taiwan hospitals have received the JCI accreditation. Preventive Healthcare will remain undoubtedly the main focus in the 21st Century. Taiwan hospitals use state-of-the-art equipment. Providing customer-oriented and friendly healthcare services is an ideal shared by all hospitals of Taiwan. Taiwan’s medical care not only focuses on serious diseases, but also provides affordable health examinations, at prices one-fifth of those in the United States and European countries.
In cosmetics, Taiwan is boasting as one of the best in conducting non-invasive plastic surgeries. 300 cosmetic clinics are located in one popular street – Chung Hsiao East Road in Taipei. With short recovery time, less side effect and no waiting time, Taiwan offers a wide variety of cosmetic service providers and items to select from. One out of five plastic surgeons in Korea is trained in Taiwan, even doctors from the US, Thailand and India have occasionally come to Taiwan for training. Medical Tourism has opened up a new frontier for people travelling between countries and Taiwan is making every effort in promoting its medical services.
