Current authentication sticker will be replaced by A4-sized ROC Document Legalization Certificate
The ROC will stop using its current authentication stickers as of June 1, 2016, and the stickers will be replaced with the new non adhesive, A4-sized ROC Document Legalization Certificate. For documents being authenticated in Taiwan (Bureau of Consular Affairs), the modeled on the format stipulated in the Hague Convention. Certificates issued by TECO and other ROC foreign missions will retain the current consular authentication format. A sample of the new ROC Document Legalization Certificate is included as Attachment.
Foreign government agencies, companies, or individuals wishing to check the authenticity of ROC-issued documents can easily do so through the e-Register. (https://docauth.boca.gov.tw/BOCAWeb/index4.jsp) The lengthy authentication review process formerly performed by our foreign missions is no longer required.
