"2017 Africa Health" is the continent’s largest healthcare exhibition and is a leading platform for the industry to meet, learn and do business. The exhibition took place from 7-9 June at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, South Africa.
Alongside the exhibition, 12 conferences offer CPD accreditation and the latest education on advancements in the field. All conferences proceeds were donated to charity.
A trade mission consisting of 8 Taiwanese companies in the health and care industry participated in the “2017 Africa Health” trade show. The delegation comprised of APEX Biotechnology Corp., Bioteque Corporation, Dyaco International, Non-Change Enterprise Co., Ltd., Omnimate Enterprise Co., Ltd., Longmax Products Co., Ltd., Comfort Power and Formosa Cultural Corporation. Among the wide-ranging products they had on display were blood glucose, cholesterol and ketone monitoring systems, manual resuscitators, oxygen and nebuliser masks, wheelchairs, crutches and prosthetics.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) were responsible for organising the delegation to South Africa. In line with TAITRA's mission the delegation were introduced to various industry players with the hopes of forging future business ties and promoting multilateral trade. Attracting more than 9,000 healthcare professionals and hosting 540 of the world’s leading healthcare suppliers, manufacturers and service providers "2017 Health Africa" definitely provides the perfect arena for this.
Acting Representative Shih, Cheng-Maw met with the trade delegates on the opening day. The trade delegates from the various companies showed off their remarkable products to Representative Shih and members from the Taipei Liaison Office. Representative Shih said, "I am very proud of the medical developments Taiwan are making in the health care industry" and that "Taiwan's health care industry is world class". He also urged them to expand into Africa's vast market.
