The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan-Africa Promotion Office (TATPO) will co-lead an exhibiting group of 10 outstanding Taiwanese suppliers to participate in SAITEX 2017, South Africa’s premier international trade exhibition, on June 25-27 at the Gallagher Convention Center in Johannesburg. The Taiwanese delegates will engage with buyers not only from South Africa, but also from neighboring African nations in business exchanges during the event.
The Taiwanese group will host a national pavilion that will feature 14 booths in Hall 3 to showcase such products as metal hardware, screws, nuts and other types of fasteners, heavy-duty trucks and trolleys, construction and electrical tapes, solar in/outdoor lighting systems, torches and lamps, shoe and bag accessories, household storage products, award-winning whisky and school and office stationery.
During the last SAITEX, most of the visiting buyers were impressed with Taiwan’s product quality. They also found Taiwanese companies to be very trustworthy and skillful, which is some of the most important traits they expect from a business partner.
This year TAITRA and TATPO have continued to recruit top-rated specialized firms from different industries. One of the major Taiwanese exhibitors this year is Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (TTL). TTL has 125 branches and more than 40,000 channel partners to help market its products. The company is looking to expand its business into Africa with its award-winning products such as its “Omar” whisky.
The top-quality liquor brand from Taiwan will be a welcome addition to whisky lovers from South Africa and other African markets. As the biggest and leading brewery and tobacco company in Taiwan, TTL believes its participation at SAITEX 2017 will be a positive first step in its foray into the African market.
Over the past 20 or so years, SAITEX has played a vital role in promoting trade between South Africa and nations from all over the globe. The event is internationally recognized as the foremost platform for intra-Africa trade that attracts visitors, including importers, distributors, agents, wholesalers and retailers throughout Africa.
Since SAITEX was acquired last year by DMG Events, the organizer believes that this year will attract more buyers from all around the African continent and beyond, especially since it is backed by the combined resources and achievements of both entities. They promise to elevate this year’s event to the next level and bring about meaningful interactions with all potential buyers and remarkable suppliers.
