Celebrating the Residency Exchange Program Taipei / Perth on Saturday, 4 August, 2018

The second year of the Residency Exchange Program Taipei / Perth recipients are renowned Taiwanese artist Yao Jui-Chung and Eugenio Viola, the senior curator of The Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA).
Yao Jui-Chung will be in Perth from 1 to 23 of August and will be engaged in a number of public events and exhibitions. Eugenio Viola will be travelling to Taipei in November to observe the cultural scene and to meet with local curators and artists for future exchange programs. The exchange will be celebrated at the Perth City Arts Space on Saturday, 4 August from 2:30 - 4 pm.
Yao Jui-Chung is has also worked as a curator, critic, activist, and academic from Taiwan. He will exhibit a number of his new prints and ink-paintings in the Entry Room of Turner Galleries, opening on Friday 10 August (6 - 8 pm) and continuing until 8 September. The artist will give a talk following the opening day at 3 pm at Turner Galleries. He will give another talk for the In Conversation program at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery on Thursday, 16 August, from 10 - 11:30 am.
In an exciting collaboration, Yao Jui-Chung will also be participating in PICA’s Artist in Residence program and will present an "Artist Talk" at PICA on Saturday, 18 August from 1 - 2 pm, followed by an open studio from 2 – 2:30 pm.
