New border restrictions are now in place to tighten Queensland borders even further to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Anyone who is not a Queensland resident or considered exempt from the restrictions will not be able to enter Queensland.

If a person is entering Queensland from another State or Territory by air in order to transfer to another flight they are allowed to enter Queensland, but must remain in the airport until the time of a transfer to another flight

People with an exemption must have a border pass prior to crossing, except freight transport services who’ll be allowed through without one.

Basically - no permit, no pass.

Student support and information is being provided at all levels of government as well as directly at an educational institutional level. The resources provided above include in-language support, links and advice on emergency accommodation and help centers for food. Equally, we are also aware the institutions are providing this support directly as well as implementing special processes to assist students with their fees. We strongly encourage students to stay in direct contact with their institutions.
